Bio

Tanya Shively, ASID tanya@sesshudesign.com

A native of spectacular Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Ms Shively was influenced early in her life by the majestic beauty of the Teton mountain range and natural wilderness surrounding her home. She has subsequently lived in various areas of the country, including Montana, Michigan and now for over a decade her home has been Arizona. The natural grandeur of each place she has called home finds its way into many of her designs in the form of spacious interiors that provide a sense of place and well-being to the homeowner. Inspired by the natural beauty she has known for a lifetime, Tanya actively seeks ways to protect it by incorporating ecologically responsive and sustainable design into her projects.

As a child, Tanya developed a keen interest in art, architecture and design that has never wavered and only grown stronger over time. Pursuing her passion, she obtained a degree in Interior Design in 1997 then went on to attain NCIDQ Certification and become a professional member of ASID. Her work in four states and award winning designs have earned Tanya the respect of her clients and received recognition for excellence from her colleagues. Her awards include:

After more than eight exciting years with Design Directives in Scottsdale, Arizona, she founded her own design firm, Sesshu Design Associates, Ltd. and is affiliated with Interior Studio Group. As a designer, Tanya brings an exceptional artistic ability to each project. Her goal is to give life to beauty and creativity through form and function, balance and harmony, individuality and innovation. With a natural drawing talent and gifted eye for color, she visualizes completed projects throughout the design process, from conceptual plans and interior architecture to all-inclusive interiors with furnishings and accessories. Those talents, coupled with her ability to understand a client's desires and produce a unique and beautiful space that feels wonderful to them, truly distinguish her as a designer.
