A mountain ruggedness and sophisticated formality blend beautifully in this 10,000 sq ft Colorado ski-lodge for entertaining family, friends and colleagues. Tactile fabrics, distressed woods, and hand-rubbed finishes lend a subtle restraint to the formal traditional styles, thus preserving a welcoming sense of comfort. An onyx “window” between the formal powder room and gracious living room is lit from either side, creating a subtle glow in both spaces. The mountain setting is brought indoors with the repetition of aspen leaves in sculptural motifs throughout the home.
