This fanciful home movie theater incorporates real aspens, fall colors, and rich textures to evoke a feeling of watching movies under the stars while sitting in a grove of tall trees.
Blending a formal, traditional style of furnishings with the rugged, rustic architecture of this mountain home was deftly accomplished using cozy, casual fabrics and finishes.
A kitchen that any cook would love to have- spacious, loads of counter space and state-of-the-art appliances – in a rustic mountain style home that brings the grandeur of the surroundings inside.
This hearth room sits just off the kitchen and is the perfect place to get cozy with a good book and a hot drink apres ski- or anytime.
This spacious, elegant master bedroom uses a custom bed reminiscent of a wing-back chair to create a feeling of intimacy in the space.
The client initially built this home as an investment “on spec”, but fell in love with it and decided to keep it for themselves. They planned to use it for ski vacations with their young son and friends, as well as a lovely summer getaway spot. They are from Little Rock, Arkansas and were used to a more traditional, formal style of home than is typically found in the mountain resort towns. The community guidelines required the home to be in keeping with a craftsmen/log style with a certain amount of wood and stone.
The challenge on this project was to blend a formal traditional style which the owners liked with the mountain rustic architecture of the home. The warm colors, rich textures and traditional lines of the furniture is blended with casual finishes and a larger scale to create the mountain formal look we achieved.
