This home in Santa Barbara, California was an extensive, down to the studs remodel that added not only square footage but also a sense of character.  Using Spanish antiques, rich colors and inviting textures, this living room is perfect for entertaining or just curling up with a good book.

“ [This was] a three year project in Santa Barbara, California. Susie and Tanya, as a strong team, worked with me in the tear down and reconstruction of out Santa Barbara home. The entire experience was extremely positive. The three of us worked closely together, on a weekly basis, for over two years.

First, and most importantly, they listened and heard what my needs and wants were. They then gave professional direction to accomplish these goals. Detailed budgets were presented for each room with regular updates. They provided me with many options and sources to achieve the design concepts. It was very evident that they kept current with the newest products and services in their industry. They were extremely supportive when working with my architects, contractor and the sub-trades. Because they were knowledgeable of the possible challenges that could occur, potential problems were solved prior to them occurring. Our meetings with these different groups were always productive and fun. We all worked together, harmoniously to achieve the wonderful final result.”

Our Task

This was a complete renovation to a very non-descript ranch house that the client envisioned transforming into a gracious Santa Barbara style home for welcoming guests. The first thing the husband bought was the painting over the fireplace, so the bold color palette became our inspiration. We worked closely with the contractor and trades throughout the construction process to create the architectural details. We used a variety of antiques and custom furnishings, hand-woven rugs, art, ironwork and lighting to complete the home.
